Workshop Description
NASA's Aura mission (http://aura.gsfc.nasa.gov) has been orbiting the Earth since July 2004, making observations of air quality, stratospheric ozone, and climate change in our atmosphere. Education Specialists from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will give an all-day workshop for middle and high school teachers on learning and teaching resources that bring cutting-edge science to the classroom, with an introduction to the chemistry of air quality and stratospheric ozone, and news about monitoring ozone through gardening with ozone-sensitive plants. Participants will receive a rich array of classroom materials, and will become familiar with how to obtain more.
