November 4 – Fly a Teacher Program

Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Fly a Teacher Program.

WHEN: Saturday, November 4
WHERE: Environmental Outpost
        585 Big Oak Road
        Smyrna, Delaware

 

 

 

 

 

Directions:

From North or South, take DE-1 (toll road) Take Smyrna South Exit 114 to Rte 13 South. At light, turn left onto Route 13 South, at next light, turn left onto Big Oak Road. After passing under Rte 1, turn left onto the second entrance. The Outpost is in the far corner of the property. Another option is to take Route 13 (not a toll road), >From South, turn right on Big Oak Road. From North, turn left on Big Oak Road.

$17.00 registration fee includes $17.00 for discounted CAP membership, lunch and a personal flight that you will schedule with the CAP at a later date

9:00 – 9:30 Update on Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation
9:30 – 10:30 CAP – Principles of Flight and Controls
10:30 -11:00 Video from AOPA Intro to flying
11:00 – 11:30 Introduction to glider flying and video
Lunch 11:30 – 12:15
12:15 Class break's into three groups and rotate through three ½ hour activities
12:15 – 12:45             12:45 – 1:15 1:15 – 1:45
Group 1 Power flight simulator computer
Group 2 Remote control simulator
Group 3 Remote control airplanes models (construction controls, how they fly etc.
1:45 – 2:15 Pending weather conditions, there will be an R/C demonstration
2:15 – 2:30 Q & A session and meeting wrap up
