Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation (DASEF)

Following the opening of Kent County’s spectacular Big Oak Park, the Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation (DASEF) hosts its First Annual Fundraising Open House at the Environmental Outpost on Big Oak Road in Smyrna, Delaware. September 30th, 2006 at Big Oak Park from 3 until 9 p.m.
There will be lots of simultaneous fun-filled family activities, including launching rockets, solar viewers, a spinning device, a hands-on clean water exhibit featuring renditions of marine life by Wyland, a world famous painter, and the interactive National Outdoor Leadership Bus which runs on vegetable oil and solar power. Radio Disney, a national, high quality children’s radio network, will present interactive entertainment for all of our visitors.
The day will culminate with an outdoor Kaleidoscopic Spectrasphere that will feature the first public viewing of the night sky from DASEF’s telescope in the Mountjoy Observatory.
This is a rain or shine event. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase. There will be a fee for some activities and the observatory program.

Developed with a focus on creativity by renowned marine life artist Wyland, the Wyland Clean Water Tour joins the worlds of art and science to demonstrate the importance of water and how it connects us all. Through exploration, scientific inquiry, artistic expression, and action visitors will experience the water cycle, understand the science behind water purity, and realize the power each individual has to make a difference.
